Our May Altar

We are celebrating Mary this month. We have made our very own May Altar in school. We brought in some beautiful May flowers to decorate it with. Teacher was very pleased with us!! We are saying special prayers to Mary all this month and singing about her in choir. We love you Mary!

Our Outer Space MARBLING MAGIC!

This month we are learning lots about outer space!! It is very interesting and we love discovering new things :) We even invented our very own planets and described what they are like. We used lots of different marbling inks in water to create our very own unique planet in outer space and even made our own rockets to fly there!!! The inks collected on the page like MAGIC to make fun, colourful designs...check them out!!

Little Green Fingers!!!!

We've been busy planting seeds over the past few weeks! So far we have planted sunflowers, tomatoes, basil, cress and are growing them inside and outside our classroom. We have to make sure that they are watered and get sunlight as much as possible. Soon we will be transferring them into larger pots with new, fresh soil! We love watching them grow! Kay the gardener also helped us grow some yummy fruit and vegetables in our garden patch outside! We are hoping to make our very own salad bowls by the end of the year for lunch - DELICIOUS!!!

Mmmmm!!! We Love Easter Eggs :)

Before our Easter holidays we had an egg hunt outside the school!! We made straw baskets in Art to collect our eggs earlier on in the week. We looked everywhere to find some eggs...some of us got very lucky!!! However we made sure to share with our classmates so we could all enjoy our treats for lunch :)

Seachtain na Gaeilge 2012!

Beannachtaí na Féile oraibh!!
This year we did lots of fun things to celebrate St. Patrick's Day and Seachtain na Gaeilge. We made a banner, some shamrock men, some festive head bands and participated in a ceolchoirm for the whole school and our parents to see. For this concert we had to learn lots of new Irish dances, songs and some of us even brought in our instruments and dancing shoes! We practiced speaking Irish throughout the two weeks as much as possible also. We had so much fun putting on this show and we hope everybody enjoyed it!!
Slán fo fóill!
